Volunteer, Sylvia Piddington rope splicing as part of the Curator's Soft Rope Project surrounding the Eucalyptus cladocalyx Sugar Gums. The gums were planted in 1877.
The soft rope fence was designed and installed in December 2019 to contain falling sugar gum branches as much as possible. The soft rope fence reverts to its straight lines, when the fallen branches are removed.
